Shaun

This is my fourth year photographing Shaun, and I hope not the last.

Shaun updates his portfolio once a year and this year we did a casual look for him, and something for fun, Shaun is such a good sport!

Business man, father and friend.

Always fun Shaun, you gorgeous man!

My business model

My business model, broken down a bit:
1) Your session
2) Your viewing
3) Your product
Being a full service portrait photographer, means going to print, believe me, this is a whole new level of skill required. I have kept my product offering simple, and I trust my suppliers to produce quality for my clients.

Yay, yay, it’s friday, and it’s my moon and stars weekend.

Wishing a safe, warm happy weekend to all 🙂

Much Love

Portrait Glamour

Going back a little, to Leigh’s portrait session. Her smile is infectious! She told me during her session, that she never really liked her smile, but she has learnt to embrace it now. I am so glad she did, because it is GORGEOUS!

Women are such self critical creatures, we all do it to ourselves.

I did a consult yesterday in studio, and my lady asked me what my demographic is in my business model, this was my answer:
” I want to photograph any woman, who has ever looked at herself in the mirror and not felt good enough about herself at any time in her life – because I know beautiful!”

Love yourself NOW ladies!

Ursula. T “What would you tell potential clients?”
Leandri “Go for the experience, the truthfulness of knowing yourself differently”

Good Morning 🙂

This is Leandri, and she is so beautiful! This was an emotional session, there were lots of tears shed, lots of laughs too, and then a few more tears.

I think in itself, this is a very healing experience, and I am a good listener, and I love giving hugs! Even if I have to do it sitting down 😉

Come try me ladies, I won’t disappoint you.

Trying to get my ursulaT mailbox working (my website domain has changed to Ursula-t.com) but I am technically challenged! That is my mission for the week (then my brand has been changed) then I will be working on a fancier website – I might need lot’s of wine for this exercise, but I will do it (Wish me luck)

Leandri, you are beautiful, thank you for trusting me, thank you for sharing, thank you for supporting my dream.

Much love
Ursula. T

To all the ladies that I have had the privilege of photographing, to all the ladies that I will in the future.

I remember you, I remember all your stories, I remember how you looked and how you posed, how you smiled and how you laughed, and how you helped me and how you loved me as I am (funny walk and all).

Your portraits made with heart, soul and love by me, are your reminder of me (I always hope this will be an amazing memory, because a piece of my heart now hangs on your walls i.e hang your portraits please – yes I’m nagging!).

It’s my moon and stars weekend aka Angelique (my baba), so friggen excited!

Have a happy, safe peaceful one.

I will be posting more portraits next week, after my viewings, keep a look out – there are some beautiful ones on it’s way. Just in case you are wondering, I only ever post portraits to my page, after my clients have been to their viewing – I keep the magic for their eyes first 😉

Much love

Why do boudoir?

You’ve heard the words “Boudoir Session”, but what exactly is a boudoir photography session? Should you get one done? A boudoir session is a photography session where you wear sexy outfits, lingerie, dresses, or even go scantily clad and get your photographs taken. While these sessions can seem intimidating here are the top eight reasons why you SHOULD do a boudoir session!
1. YOU’LL LOOK AMAZING
Professional hair and makeup, a professional photographer, and professional retouching equals some of the best portraits of yourself that you will ever see. I often tell my clients to schedule a night out after getting their portraits done, because they will look and feel amazing! Waiting to lose those perpetual “Last 5, 10, or 15 pounds”? DON’T! Professional photographers know how to pose you to flatter your individual body type.
2. IT MAKES A GREAT GIFT FOR YOUR GROOM/HUSBAND/BOYFRIEND/SIGNIFICANT OTHER!
Imagine the look on his face when you surprise him with a little album filled with sensuous pictures of the one he loves! He thinks you’re beautiful on your worst hair days and in your yoga pants, so show him how smoking hot you are in classy lingerie and professional makeup! It may be a side he’s never seen!
3. IT MAKES A GREAT GIFT FOR YOU!
Show off your beauty and give yourself an esteem boost with photographs that you can treasure. Do it for yourself. Be pampered. Indulge. Love every minute!
4. YOU’RE ALREADY WORKING IT FOR THE WEDDING
You’ve been on a skin care regimen for the last six months and skipped the donuts in the conference room to make sure you look the best for your wedding day. Show off you hard work and document such a momentous time in your life.
5. YOU GET TO GO SHOPPING!
Women tend to put others first in their lives a lot of the time. Take some time out for yourself and go shopping for yourself! There is nothing like retail therapy right? The best part? All of the great pieces you purchase can make other appearances in more intimate settings!
6. MAKE IT A GIRL’S DAY OUT!
Need a little confidence boost to come in for a session? Make it a girl’s day out! Choose a few of your BFF’s and do a session together! I offer portrait parties, a special girl’s day out collections that include a day of pampering, food, wine, and each lady getting her time in front of the camera!
7. IT WILL EMPOWER YOU
Getting treated like a celebrity for a few hours is great therapy for anyone! But wait until you get to see the photographs for the first time. You will be blown away. You will see how gorgeous you really are and it will put a little pep in your step!
8. IT’S A GREAT WAY TO CELEBRATE A MILESTONE
Have an anniversary coming up or just scored a well-deserved promotion? Why not get this time in your life documented in a gratifying way? Not only will you have gorgeous portraits of yourself, but when you look at them you’ll remember how amazing this time in your life was! Celebrate it!

What goes into your viewing:

What goes into your viewing:

Your session has come and gone,  I have spent the next few days selecting and hand editing your portraits. This is the day you get to see how everything turned out, and it’s always exciting! My turn around time here is one week from your session, I stick to this because obviously you are as excited as I am to see your images. The magic from your session is still fresh in your head.

Your viewing session is where we decide on what product you will be taking, what sizes, what format. We go through layouts and choose something that you will fall in love with everytime you see it.

Once your order has been placed with my spupplier, it typically takes one week for product to arrive at studio for you to collect. This means there is a two week turn around time from your session to receiving your beautiful portraits, ready to hang in your home. This makes my soul dance, to see my work in print.

Once your session is over, you will have memories to treasure for a lifetime.

And that is how we do it here ladies, come try us for a session

What goes into your editing:

What goes into your editing:

Your session is finished, time for me to download your images, and make a backup of my working file, also a spot check – yip, I nailed it. I do this immediately after, and I am always nervous about every session, I am not sure why a little self doubt creeps in, because after being a professional photographer for ten years, I kind of know what I am doing. So spot check is done, I now leave your file until the next day, so I can view with fresh perspective. My files are huge you know, I shoot in raw, which makes each image around 100mb in my working file. I am up early and excited to do your portrait selection (step 1). I go through each image, looking for consistencies in light, different poses and facial expressions, I give my favourites a rating of 5, and these are the ones I edit for your viewing. Hours later, I have culled and I am down to a portfolio of no less than 20 Images, and it’s looking good. While I am doing portfolio selection, I already know how I am going to edit, and what final product will work best with your images.

I take a break, sometimes until the next day, fresh eyes ready for editing. I use three software programs for this, I begin an editing flow, and every image must go through the same technique, every image is hand edited and this takes around 20 hours, with lot’s of coffee in between and resting my eyes. It’s during my editing workflow, that I see a bit of magic, I see your portraits coming to life and I am always happy in this moment, I sit and reflect how much skill and talent I have acquired over these years, and I am so proud that I am here, in this space to live this life, despite all my challenges. This is all I want to do, it is so beautiful.

Product recommendation done, portraits edited, it’s time for your viewing and I hope you will be pleased and fall in love with your portraits just as I have.
