Portrait Glamour

Going back a little, to Leigh’s portrait session. Her smile is infectious! She told me during her session, that she never really liked her smile, but she has learnt to embrace it now. I am so glad she did, because it is GORGEOUS!

Women are such self critical creatures, we all do it to ourselves.

I did a consult yesterday in studio, and my lady asked me what my demographic is in my business model, this was my answer:
” I want to photograph any woman, who has ever looked at herself in the mirror and not felt good enough about herself at any time in her life – because I know beautiful!”

Mom Daughter Portraits

My latest mom and daughter portrait session. the very beautiful Nadia (daughter) and Orlanda (who is in her fifties btw – like WOW – look how stunning she is?)

This is one of my favourite sessions to do, and it always fascinates me to see the gene pool passed down, the bond between a mother and her daughter, which is always so special for me to be a part of, creating a family heirloom for generations to come.

Nadia, Orlanda; deeply grateful to you both. Thank you for your kindness, your support, and your trust in me.

We are doing a 9-up frame and two small canvases for them – all beautifully chosen!

Now it is moon and stars time 🙂 What a beautiful day this is.

What goes into your viewing:

Your session has come and gone,  I have spent the next few days selecting and hand editing your portraits. This is the day you get to see how everything turned out, and it’s always exciting! My turn around time here is one week from your session, I stick to this because obviously you are as excited as I am to see your images. The magic from your session is still fresh in your head.

Your viewing session is where we decide on what product you will be taking, what sizes, what format. We go through layouts and choose something that you will fall in love with everytime you see it.

Once your order has been placed with my spupplier, it typically takes one week for product to arrive at studio for you to collect. This means there is a two week turn around time from your session to receiving your beautiful portraits, ready to hang in your home. This makes my soul dance, to see my work in print.

Once your session is over, you will have memories to treasure for a lifetime.

Tracey, I am beyond grateful for you and our new venture as a team, I believe we are going to conquer the world together. Samantha Cowen

I have had a very exciting few weeks in my studio. So Exciting that I haven’t posted here for a while, I seem to be migrating to facebook posts, if you don’t follow me there yet, please do; here is the link:

Tuesday this week, I had the absolute honour of doing a portrait session for Samantha Cowen (from radio 702), we will be doing a radio interview session next week too, which will be aired. I hate the sound of my voice by the way, but I have a beautiful story to share, and I have a purpose after surviving my strokes, so I will do it with love and gratitude to Samantha –  for the opportunity I am eternally grateful!

Sam is amazing, and beautiful down to her very core, in between the chats, laughs and selfies, a very real, down to earth personality was apparent. We did a natural Sam and a glam Sam session – both equally beautiful!

Hannelie burger was on set doing hair and makeup (beautifully!) and Tracey, my new studio partner (more about this later)

Pet Portraits

This is Ceasar, a pet portrait session which was a birthday gift for his daddy.

I must admit I was a little intimidated when I first met him. He is HUGE! But after a quick introduction, and lots of slobbery kisses, I knew we would be fine.

My studio is a humble country cottage, and it works for pets here, so why not bring yours along for a portrait session and a fun outing?

Now it is not that easy creating portraits of pets, because they are excitable and don’t really like to sit and pose. I think I did alright here.

What a magnificent specimen of doberman Ceasar is. He was so good!

I know times are tough, so after much thinking I have come up with an idea to help you.
